Check out the local paper for listings of festivals, farmers markets, concerts and movies in the park. Many times these are free to attend.
Sign up for the parks department newsletter and their Facebook page. This is a great resource for free swim days and information about summer camps if the kids need to burn off some summer energy.
Plan a one-tank getaway. The only rule? Only use one tank of gas there and back. This is a great way to vacation “locally” and to experience your state with new eyes.
Your best resource? Your friends and family. “Word-of-mouth” from people you know is the best resource. From them, you can get details about their experience that are priceless.
Submit your favorite summer activity to your alumnae chapter’s Facebook page or to the national headquarters Facebook page.
