Welcome

Virtual Violet would like to welcome Sigma Kappa's newest alumnae, our spring 2003 graduates. Because growth and friendship are important to women throughout their lives, the Sigma Kappa experience does not end with graduation. Our bond continues to bring us together over the years, to share experiences, serve others, and have fun!

Sigma Kappa enthusiastically welcomes all our new Virtual Violet subscribers. Let Virtual Violet support you to stay e-connected with your collegiate chapter sisters, and be up-to-date with Sorority news, locally, regionally, and nationally.

Badges on eBay

Once or twice a month, a Sigma Kappa badge will appear for sale on eBay, and Sigma Kappas everywhere will sigh with dismay. But what can, and what should, we do, when we see a badge listed for sale to the highest bidder?

First, how did the badge come to be for sale?
What happens when the badge is listed for sale on eBay?

What should a member do when she sees a Sigma Kappa badge listed on eBay?
What should a Sigma Kappa member do about her own badge?

Have you thought about joining an alumnae chapter?

The benefits of Sigma Kappa membership last a lifetime, and have lifelong influences on its members. Besides offering support, encouragement, and an atmosphere that promotes success and well-being, Sigma Kappa creates opportunities for women to always be a part of a worldwide sisterhood of bright, smart, caring women.

Alumnae have the opportunity to always become involved with Sigma Kappa through an alumnae chapter. Alumnae chapter membership offers a continued sense of sisterhood, support, and enjoyment. Thanks for Asking

Who can be initiated as an alumna initiate?
Sigma Kappa is always looking for dedicated, caring alumnae initiates to join our sisterhood. The women may be relatives, friends, and co-workers that have never joined one of the 26 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) groups. They are women that have demonstrated an interest in assisting college women and have involvement in community affairs. They are willing to learn about Sigma Kappa and give service back to the organization.

Who should I contact if I wish to recommend a potential alumna initiate?

First, you should talk with the potential alumna initiate. Tell her about our Sigma Kappa heritage and traditions, philanthropies, and the national organization. Share special memories that you have about your days as a Sigma Kappa collegian and the sisters that you have grown to know over the years. To recommend a potential alumna initiate, contact Barbara Wilmer, national vice president for alumnae, at national_vpalumnae@sigmakappa.org.
